Playground Charter
In session 24-25, our Rights Knights Leadership group have led the development of our Playground Charter with agreed values so that everyone feels safe, our school is looked after, and everyone has fun at breaktime and lunchtime.
During this process, they discussed and ranked what they felt were the most important elements of how they wanted our playground to look, feel and sound. As well as consulting with parents and staff generally, about their views on the United Nations Conventions of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), they also consulted with the pupils specifically around their views on the playground. They also identified the UNCRC Articles that they felt were most appropriate for the playground.
Feedback from the survey informed their decisions, and then the Rights Knights worked together to design the Playground Charter. This has been introduced at a whole school assembly and all pupils and staff in our school have agreed and signed our new Playground Charter. We will now work to reinforce these values with all pupils during their interactions in the playground.
Please watch the video below, created by our Rights Knights group, which explains the whole process.
