Note from Perth High regarding Transition days
Good morning,
We are very much looking forward to seeing your young person/people for their two induction days on Thursday and Friday of next week. Please let us know if for any reason your child is unable to attend.
If your child needs medication in school for the two days, please make sure either that your child brings it, or let me know if you are planning to drop it off.
I would like to remind the arrangement for the days. Pupils should arrive for 9am and should enter the school through the pupil entrance where members of staff and senior buddies will be waiting to welcome them. They should then make their way to the hellerup seating in our auditorium. Our Guidance teachers will then meet them and take them in their classes, give them a short tour of some key areas, share their timetables and then they will go off to class accompanied by their buddies.
At the end of the day they will be released at 3:30, to get them away before the rest of the school is dismissed. The visitor car park is very small and priority spaces are given to parents of pupils with accessibility needs. Other parents should pick up their child on the street, so please arrange with them where you will be.
Pupils should bring a snack and water. Tayside Contracts will provide a lunch each day. However, Tayside Contracts will not have access to adapted menus for the two days. The menu is below and you can check with your child what allergens the choices contain. At secondary, there is a larger choice of food, so for these days it would be helpful to discuss what choices would be suitable. You can also choose to send a packed lunch for your child if you wish. This can be accessed here; Browse Menus - Tayside Contracts - New 8 - secondary 2 Pupils with the adapted menus can normally get the smarter choice options for that day on the main page and then top right has a search function for any of the other items.
If any new S1 requires an adapted smarter choice menu for after the summer holidays you will have to apply for, it will NOT automatically transfer to high school from primary. This can be accessed by going to School Catering by Tayside Contracts and scrolling to the bottom to get the adapted menu request form which will then needs to be filled in and sent to SchoolCatering@pkc.gov.uk. If you need to, please do this as soon as possible as it can take some time for the menu to be in place.
